After thinking that it would be nice to make available articles in English too, I tried to figure out how to accomplish the task. As a newbie of WordPress the first thing I thought was to simply post another distinct article in whatever language, and maybe add a link inside articles to point each other, but the idea seemed quite ugly. So, beginning to understand the philosophy of WordPress, I wondered if maybe a plugin exists aimed at solving my problem.
After some googling I found qTranslate but it seems not to be working as expected. Articles translated are there, but they seems not to be accessible. Investigating…

Found. It is not enough to install and activate the plugin. You must place it somewhere. Now I placed it in the right area and it seems to work. I did not wanted really this layout, I thought about a button at the top of the article to change language, maybe with the language flags reproduced. Unfortunately the theme I choose (Twenty-eleven I think), does allow for plugins to be placed in the right area of the page only, or at the bottom. Oh well, I’ll keep that way for now…
qTranslate does his job quite well, when composing an article you have a tab for every language you decided to support and a distinct edit area. The submit publish/update all the versions simultaneously. There is a specific version for every version of WordPress. I have WP 3.4.2 and the corresponding qTranslate version was automatically updated (I started with the wrong version). Installation is a breeze and configuration goes straightforward. A nice tool, no doubt.
For anyone who inslalts qTranslate in 2012 and has this problem, you no longer have to edit any files.All you have to do now is go to qTranslate language settings -> “Advanced Options” -> “Date / Time Conversion” -> “Use strftime instead of date and replace formats with the predefined formats for each language.”
